Summer is full swing. Kids are involved with sports, camps, and playgrounds and getting to enjoy the outdoors. This is perfect timing as July is National Parks and Recreation month. Make sure that you check out the Lititz recCenter and their summer offerings. A wide variety of camps for different ages are being offered. Local municipalities are also working with the Lititz recCenter to offer a Free Summer Playground Program for ages 5-12 out at our parks. The program is offered every week day at different parks at different times. Camp and playground is a great way to get the kids active this summer, especially during National Parks and Recreation Month.
Do not forget to check out and enjoy our local trails, and rail-trail systems. Walking, running, hiking or biking on these systems gets the community active and enjoying our community outdoor amenities.
Rothsville Lion’s Park courts have been completed and lined. Come to the park (20 Twin Brook Rd.) to play on the new full sized basketball court or two permanent outdoor pickleball courts. Both are open to the community and are on a first come first serve basis. The park is open from dawn to dusk. Any parents looking to play basketball or pickleball Monday – Wednesday evenings, make sure you bring the kiddos so they can enjoy Summer Playground from 6pm-8:30pm.
Please share you pictures next month of you and your family enjoying National Parks and Recreation Month. Help us keep the trend going this July! #PRMwarwick
